Maria joined SASLO in 2015 and holds the position of Special Counsel in the Corporate – Commercial Department in SASLO. She qualified in Cyprus in 2011 and holds a Law LL.B degree from the University of Central Lancashire (UK) and an LL.M in International Business and Commercial Law from the University of Manchester (UK). Maria is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and holds a diploma in international arbitration.
Prior to joining SASLO, Maria worked as a corporate lawyer in Cyprus and as a corporate and commercial lawyer in Dubai. She has extensive experience in corporate law, including but not limited to, corporate structures, setting up of various types of companies, cross border and multi-jurisdictional M&A transactions, due diligence procedures, and drafting of agreements and other legal documents. Maria also frequently advises clients on a broad range of commercial matters.
Maria’s experience also includes advising consortia and lenders on large scale infrastructure projects such as independent water projects and has advised and acted for bidders and sponsors on several IWPs in Oman. Maria has also advised on construction related disputes and acted for clients in international commercial arbitrations.
Maria is a native Greek speaker, fluent in English, working proficiency in German, and basic Arabic.
